Summer School 2022

Summer School Programs

Horizon High School is proud to offer multiple programs this summer to assist our students in achieving at the highest level. In addition to Credit Recovery (traditional summer school), we will host a variety of camps for specific groups of students. Information for students that qualify for each of these opportunities was sent to parents the week of April 4.

Essential Information

  • Most summer programs will occur from June 1-30.
  • Most students will attend class/camp from 7:30 AM–1:30 PM.
  • All programs will be hosted in person on our campus.
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day from June 1-30.
  • Transportation is available for those who qualify from June 1-30. Click here to view the bus route for summer school
  • Complete the registration form to ensure our food order and bus routes are accurate and include your student.

June Program Dates*

Week 1 = June 1-3

Week 2 = June 6-9 (school closed on Friday, June 10)

Week 3 = June 13-16 (school closed on Friday, June 17)

Week 4 = June 20-23 (school closed on Friday, June 24)

Week 5 = June 27-30 (school closed on Friday, July 1)

*Please note the district and our campus will operate on 10-hour days starting June 9th and ending on July 27. We will be closed on Fridays beginning June 10th through July 27.

  • Accelerated Enrichment (June 1-30)
  • ACT Prep Camp (June 1-30; Test July 16)
  • Algebra 1 EOC Camp (July 18-19; Test July 19-20)
  • Band Camp (July-dates to be determined)
  • Calculus Project Camp (June 1-30)
  • Credit Recovery (June 1-30)
  • ELL College Bound Prep Camp (June 1-30; 7:30 AM-12:30 PM)

Additional Program Information

  • Accelerated Enrichment – students  who struggled in English 1 and/or Algebra 1 courses this school year and earn a final grade of C or D should attend.
  • ACT Prep Camp – students that have yet to meet graduation testing requirements for ELA/Reading should attend.  
  • Algebra 1 EOC Camp – students that have yet to meet graduation testing requirements for Mathematics should attend.  
  • Band Camp – students participating in Band for the 2022-23 school year should attend.
  • Calculus Project Camp – students that participated in the Calculus Project in the current and previous school years should attend.
  • Credit Recovery – students that did not successfully earn a final grade of C or higher in a core subject (English 1-3, Algebra 1, Liberal Arts Math 1-2, Geometry, Algebra 2, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, World History, US History) in the current school year or a previous high school year should attend.
  • ELL College Bound Prep Camp – English Language Learners who will be seniors in the 2022-23 school year and have yet to meet graduation testing requirements for ELA/Reading should attend.
