Florida Graduation Requirements
Students must successfully complete high school graduation requirements as set forth by Florida’s Department of Education. Students are advised to take a rigorous course of study while in high school if they are interested in applying to four year colleges/universities. In addition to earning their high school diploma, students have the opportunity to earn Scholars Designation, Merit Designation and/or Florida Seal of Biliteracy.

2.0 unweighted cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.

Statewide Assessments
|
• Pass the Grade 10 Florida Standards Assessment English Language Arts (FAST ELA) Requirement
• Pass the Algebra 1 Florida Standards Assessment End of Course Requirement
|
24 Credits
|
4 Credits ELA
|
• ELA 1, 2, 3, 4
|
4 Credits Mathematics
|
• One of which must be Algebra 1 and one of which must be Geometry
|
3 Credits Science
|
• One of which must be Biology 1, two of which must be equally rigorous science courses
|
3 Credits Social Studies
|
• 1 credit in World History
• 1 credit in U.S. History
• 0.5 credit in U.S. Government
• 0.5 credit in Economics
|
1 Credit Fine and Performing Arts, Speech and Debate, Practical Arts or CTE
|
1 Credit Physical Education
|
Students may satisfy this requirement through one of the following:
- Pass the HOPE course (Health Opportunities through Physical Education)
- Complete the Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Curriculum
- Participation in 2 seasons of interscholastic sports at the high school level. Students must complete this form and turn into Student Services: Physical Education Waiver – Interscholastic Sports
- 2 years of NDCC course

8 Elective Credits

Beginning with the Class of 2027 (students who entered grade 9 in 2020-2021), students must complete a Personal Financial Course. (More information to come in the 2023-2024 school year). |
