Morning drop off procedures - Horizon HS
Good afternoon, Horizon High School families. This is Principal Andrew Jackson with important information regarding morning student drop-off. Please understand that drop-off procedures are designed to minimize delays and ensure all students arrive to class on time.
When entering campus, parents should drop off in the right lane and move forward as far as possible. (Staff and student parking should be in the left lane to enter). When traffic is stopped, your student should exit the vehicle on the right side, next to the curb, as quickly and safely as possible, keeping their belongings with them.
Once your student has exited the vehicle, drivers should move to the left lane to exit campus. A map has been attached for your reference. The map is also available on our social media channels.
As always happens in the first few weeks of school, we anticipate extreme congestion as families learn the expected traffic flow and develop morning routines. I ask that you consider dropping your student off as early as possible to minimize congestion. Our campus doors will open at 6:45 a.m. every day.
Finally, please refrain from using Seidel Road or the surrounding communities as drop-off or pick-up locations for your students. Please be patient, flexible, and use caution as you enter our campus. It is going to be a great year as we work together to be the top producer of career- and college-ready graduates in OCPS.
